2011 - News

Drop camp at dusk - jpeg 7.8 K
2011 is half over and I am just now getting is up on the website.

Our year at Cave Creek Trail Rides was a record one for us.  We had a great staff and wonderful guests.

We plan to open a second corral in the West Valley at Estrella Regional Park next fall.  That corral will be named “Corral West Horse Trail Rides at Estrella Park”.  We had hoped to open that operation this year but have been HUMBLED by permits from the city of Goodyear.  We only have 13 more permits to go as I write this and should be able to start construction in the fall and ready to do Trailrides by mid-December.

We will start with a Fall Festival in October complete with wagon rides, pumpkin patches, hay mazes and fun activities of young and old.  That will keep us out of trouble while we are building and hopefully generate some cash to get us started.  We will then go into a Winter Wonderland from Thanksgiving through Christmas.  This park is much larger than the one we are currently in and has a lot more possibilities.  We will also be responsible for a Rodeo Arena.  That will be a big learning curve for us but we are up to the challenge.

We are starting to gather bookings for our summer pack trips and are looking to get back into the Sawtooth Mountains.  We have had a lot of snow this year and so far it is holding.

Katy is just completing her second year of teaching 5th graders and loves it.  She has also taken on the task of working on her masters in Reading.  She has been a busy girl this year.  She came down and spent part of her spring break with us which we loved.

Dusty and Elise have built houses all winter and seem to be busy and happy.  They are expecting their first child in mid-December.  This will make Jeff and I Grandparents which we are VERY excited about.

Health wise we are well.  We cherish our time together and thankful for each day.  Jeff’s mom is doing well and my parents are being well taken care of by my sister in Oregon.

We hope you will come and share the Stanley Basin with us this summer and soak up a few moments of this magical place we call home.  Give us a call or e-mail us if we can help you.

Life is good.

Warmly,

Jeff & Deb
