Toxaway Lake Base Camp
Our base camp at Toxaway Lake adjoins a glacial meadow overlooking the lake basin and the surrounding mountains that tower above. The perennial snowfields feed small streams, which cascade into the blue lake below. At base camp, you will find the comforts of horseback packing. Comfortable chairs, toilets, and great views all add to a quiet relaxing atmosphere.
Toxaway Lake is minutes away with fishing, swimming, and just enjoying this spectacular country. The trail to Toxaway leads past several small lakes with waterfalls and streams connecting the way. When the snow banks have melted, the route over Snowside Pass and down the Alice Lake Canyon provides spectacular views from the pass. This trail winds its way back to our starting point down the Twin Lakes/Alice Lake Canyon.
Edna Lake Base Camp
Edna Lake Base Camp trips show our guests the best of the Sawtooth Wilderness. Located between two great lakes for fishing and at the trail junction for exploring other lake basins. Our base camp provides many opportunities for wilderness fun.
At base camp, you will enjoy healthy western style meals, campfire evenings, and great views. The trail leads on to other high lake basin areas to explore for fishing, hiking and enjoying.
For the fisherman: fishing is done from the shoreline or using float tubes. Enjoy a lazy day fishing as you are floating in the middle of crystal clear water and setting the hook for Cutthroat Trout.
