Heading South to Find Some Warmer Weather

Deb Bitton - Friday, September 27, 2013

It's that time of year again. The aspen leaves are turning gold and the snow has began to fall lightly on the peaks. As usual we are busy gearing up for our winter operations in Arizona but we don't let that stop us from admiring the beautiful fall season here in Stanley, Idaho. We had an extremely quick and busy summer this year; two weddings, 225 packtrip guests, and summer fires have kept us on our toes.

The marriage of our daughter Katy to Thaddeus Jones kept us plenty busy in July getting all things ready for the major event. Food was cooked, rooms were booked, and the day couldn't have been more beautiful.

A few days after the wedding a small fire near Redfish Lake caused us to close down the corrals and evacuate horses. Thankfully the fire fighters contained the fire quickly and efficiently and we were back to business as usual by the end of the week.

We did many packtrips this summer which kept our back country guides busy and happy. I spent a lot of time prepping food and meeting guests at the trailheads to ensure them the best possible memory-making trip. Corral manager, Mathew Cain and guide, Rebekah Alseth got hitched at the end of August and then quickly escaped for a short honeymoon.

Galena Stage Stop Corrals was busy as ever this summer! Unfortunately, a forest fire near Sun Valley caused us to shut down early but we'll be back with more wagon rides, trail rides, and cowboy cookouts next season!

Our summer season ended strong with a special program for wounded veterans in Arko, Idaho. The guests of the Wounded Warriors program were amazing men and women who bonded over horses, cows, and cowboy coffee. We feel blessed to take part in the program for the second time and plan on being involved for years to come.

This fall has been an exciting one! Our second grandbaby, Gauge Maxwell Bitton, was born on September 7th! Both Jeff and I were overjoyed to spend some time with the new addition to the family and our first grandchild, Dempsy who is as cute and busy as they come! We can't get enough of being grandparents. We have had two very successful guided hunts this fall and still have one more before the fall season is over. Mathew, our corral manager and hunting guide came back from his honeymoon at the beginning of September ready to hunt!

It’s been an amazing summer! It’s always hard to leave Stanley in the fall but we are excited for new adventures at Corral West and to see old friends at Cave Creek Trail Rides. Hope to see you all in Arizona this winter!

Father's Day Trip - July Trip!

Deb Bitton - Friday, May 24, 2013
Hello Friends,
Here are the Sawtooths on 5-19-13, they are looking magnificent and they await you on June 12, to see the area at it's most beautiful time.  The peaks and cirques will still have snow on them!
Our next scheduled trip is July 17 to 20 or longer. We will be visiting the Cramer Lakes where you can take the boat across the lake, or we take you by horseback from Redfish or at the end of the lake you can either hike or ride the 8 miles to one of the most scenic, majestic area in the Sawtooths.
Talk to you soon,
